JessEm does not recommend any particular brand of router motor but our Mast-R-Lift II and Mast-R-Lift Excel II can handle the majority of router motors right out of the box. Please measure your motor diameter and compare to the chart below.

  • Motor diameter is 4.2” - A1
  • Motor diameter is 4.143” -D3
  • Motor diameter is 3.625” - B1
  • Motor diameter is 3.5” - F4
  • Motor diameter is 3.267” - E2
  • Motor diameter is 3.32” - G3

Any router that has the power source on the housing similar to the Bosch MR23EVS, will not work in any of our lifts. The reason being is that once removed from the housing, the motor has no power source to be turned on.

Our Mast-R-Lift II and Rout-R-Lift II top plates come in the industry standard 9-1/4” x 11-3/4”. We also offer our Mast-R-Lift II with a smaller 8-1/4” x 11-3/4” Top plate to fit certain brands tops on the market.

Our Top Plate will work with all cast iron tops on the market however the corner mounting holes may not line up and modifications will need to be made.

Check the brass components for wear. If the lift is more than a few years old, these components may be wearing out.

If the lift is hard to raise and lower, crack all 4 screw around the center opening and retighten. This should reset the shafts on the lift and allow for smoother travel.

Make sure carriage isn’t too tight onto motor. You want to snug up the carriage once the router is installed but not over-tighten it.

If you need your router motor 100% straight for certain jigs, install a ½” straight bit in your router. Loosen the router in the carriage and using a square, adjust the motor until the router bit is perfectly straight. Then tighten up the carriage once again.

We offer 5 different versions of the Rout-R-Lift II based on the router model. Please verify that your router is compatible with the router model you purchased.

All Rout-R-Lift II’s are fully tested with a motor, so if your motor is not fitting properly in the opening, you may need to rotate the router for it to fit.

Manually set the dial to zero but putting the crank handle in the adjustment dial location and hold in place. Using 2 fingers (from other hand) manually turn the dial to line up your zero marks. Once set, remove the crank handle.

Our TS Stock Guides were designed to work on a minimum 2” wide Biesemeyer style fence only. Personal modifications can be made to suit a customer having a portable/jobsite table saw or a fence smaller than 2”. (these modifications are at the discretion of the customer and not approved by JessEm Tool Company)

Our current 10 Piece Insert Ring Set and individually sold rings are compatible with all versions of our lifts from the very beginning of the company.

If your O-Rings have warped or turned gooey, this is caused by the environment in which your woodshop is located. A location that is too hot or have a lot of moisture in the air can cause the O-Rings to loosen material. We are working on the formula to eliminate this from happening so please contact us if you have any concerns.
